| Girls’ Brigade |
Our programme features a variety of fun activities designed to educate, inspire and develop. It is run by trained GB leaders with help from volunteer assistants. Our programmes cover a selection of physical, social, educational and spiritual activities that link in with our motto to Seek, Serve and Follow Christ. Girls' Brigade caters for the following age groups: Juniors 5-8 years, Seniors 9-12 years and Pioneers 13-17 years. All age groups meet on Mondays 6.30-8.00pm (during school terms) in the church hall.
ProgrammeThe GB Programme is an holistic programme that develops a girl's educational, physical, spiritual and social growth. These four areas form the four subjects of our programme which is based on the Bible reference Luke chapter 2 verse 52. The programme caters for girls aged 5-18 and is divided up into three age groups. Each age group focuses on a different part of our motto: Seek, Serve and Follow Christ.
JuniorsJuniors are aged between 5 and 8 years, and they complete ten (three week block) subjects over a year to earn their Star Award. The Star Award represents the 'seeking' part of our Motto. In the Christmas story, the wise men found Jesus in the manger by following the star. SeniorsSeniors are aged between 9 and 12 and do five (six week block) subjects to earn their Circle Award. The Circle Award represents the circle of service that GB practises - to one another, their church and to God. PioneersPioneers complete their programme between the ages of 13 and 18. The Pioneer award, the triangle, is earned by completing one of each subject. The Triangle Award has three equal sides which represents the relationship Girls' Brigaders have with firstly God, then others and themselves. The Pioneer programme focuses on the 'following Jesus' aspect of the GB Motto.
