| Helping Hand Trust |
How It WorksThe Helping Hand Trust was set up to help people in Hastings who are in genuine financial need by making available an interest-free loan. The Trust doesn’t have unlimited money to lend but does try to assist where there is real need. There are criteria for receiving the loan, but each case is assessed individually, after the applicant has completed the necessary forms and has had an interview with one of the Trust Board Members. The Trust Board then makes a decision at their next meeting. If a loan is granted, it must be repaid by regular instalments to the Trust and this would be arranged once the decision is made, according to the person’s circumstances. In this way the funds then become available again to help someone else. If you would like to apply for a loan, you need to complete the forms available from the church office, including the budget form, and return them as soon as possible so that they can be considered and a time made for the interview with one of the Trust Board Members.
Why We’re HereYou’re probably reading this because you need help with a debt. Money is tight and you can’t pay all that you owe. You’ve exhausted all your options and you need help. The Helping Hand Trust lends money donated and invested (interest free) by Christians who, out of gratitude for what Christ has done for them, want to use their funds to help others. We’re here because we know what it’s like to owe what you can’t pay. The Trust is run and supported by people who have all experienced the desperation of being unable to pay the ultimate debt – the debt we owe God. And that’s a debt that every person owes.
