HASTINGS Rev Peter Eaton 10.30am & 7.00pm

We farewelled Steve & Maryann Trim and their four daughters recently, prior to their move to Auckland as Steve enters Baptist College for training. Ruth Callister begins training at Bible College and Casey Drake and Ian Rosenberg are leaving for a month's opportunity of service in Cambodia. Grateful thanks to Rev Geoff Whelan, Ian Taylor, Neville Williamson and a Havelock North Group for conducting services while our pastor enjoyed a well-deserved holiday.

July 1992

HASTINGS Rev Peter Eaton 10.30am & 7.00pm

"Come Eatin' with the Eatons" was the call to celebrate the first five years of their ministry in Hastings with food, games and entertainment. We hosted the Good Friday morning service attended by our Methodist and Salvation Army friends. The Young People had to dress appropriately for a 60's night. At a luncheon hosted by the BMF our two Bible College students, Ruth Callister and Linda Johnson shared with us and Linda also showed slides of her Christmas assignment to Bangladesh. We gave them a box of useful gifts. Ian Rosenberg and Casey Drake have told us about their visit to Cambodia. Thirty-one young people attended the CTC in Wellington with their leaders Alan and Vicky Taplin.

November 1992

HASTINGS Rev Peter Eaton 10.30am & 7.00pm

"Going Tramping," a Kids' Praise musical camping adventure produced by the Children's Church and some adults, much enjoyed by the huge audience. BMF held a coffee and dessert evening for the visit of Ross and Cindy Meyer. The focus for a Prayer Breakfast was on the many Church and Community involvements we as a Church are engaged in. Lovelink has now begun and is able to meet the needs of those who seek help. The Irish evening of fun and games was also a time to farewell Ernie and Joy Peden as they leave us to live in Taupo. Watch out Taupo! The Pedens are coming!

N.Z. Baptist Magazine

Since the first days of the church, Hastings Baptist submitted regular summaries of church life and events to the New Zealand Baptist Magazine.  As part of the centenary archive those updates have been collected and reproduced here.  It is a catalogue of people and moments that have shaped the church’s story.
